Scott Langley Sensei
5th Dan JKS
Q: How did you first come into contact with the Hirota do-gi?
The first time I went to Japan, in 1992! I was taken by my instructor to their head office and I bought a dogi there and then.
Q: How long have you been using Hirota do-gi’s, and which model do you prefer to use?
From 1992 until about 2005 I used the standard Pinac dogi. Then I changed to the Special Pinac and last year I changed to the Kuu… The Kuu is fantastic. I have 7 pinac dogi and I have changed them all to Kuu!
Q: Do you agree with the comment, "Hirota the best do-gi available today"?
ABSOLUTELY!
Q: In your experience, what is the difference between Hirota do-gi's and other brands you have used before?
Obviously, it has been 20 years since I used another brand. At that time I was a shodan. Now I am a godan: Correlation? You decide :-)
Q: Would you recommend Hirota do-gi's to other karatekas?
Yes, I would and I do. All the seniors (and quite a few juniors) in my dojo have either a Pinac or Kuu.
